Crisis Line Specialist

A volunteer opportunity that will teach you crisis management techniques, develop your listening skills, and enhance your interactions with family, friends and co-workers. Help our callers through some of life’s most critical moments by providing a caring human connection, a trained listening ear, and a link to resources. Minimum of two, four-hour shifts per month, with an option to serve a weekly shift. One year commitment required, with shifts available daytime, evenings and weekends. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) volunteers needed also. Learn how to take callers from the breaking point to the turning point. A 40-hour Crisis Intervention Training program is provided.

Community Outreach Team

Help us get the word out about CONTACT services by staffing our booths at community gatherings, college information fairs, and more. Orientation and training provided, with flexible hours during daytime, evening and weekends for 2 to 4 hour shifts as needed. Click here for application.

Special Events Support

Assist with organization, support, mailings, etc which aid with the broader goals of raising funds and awareness. Events include our annual gala, Teen Conference, or one of our other events throughout the year. Committee member positions available, also. Orientation and training provided by combination of staff members and volunteers with previous experience assisting with our special events. Flexible hours and dynamic (and fun) team atmosphere. Teen CONTACT Program Support

This role can include a variety of tasks such as:

  • Program development: updating presentations and preparing worksheets and supplies for next presentation and/or small groups
  • Administrative support: answering and returning calls from schools and persons interested in our program, updating data and statistics

Office Support & Special Projects

Help CONTACT do even more by helping with mailings, personalizing invitations, special projects, planning events, and general office duties. Flexible, mostly business hours and great team atmosphere. Resource Database Project

Assist in maintaining the crisis line resource database. Keeping our resources current and complete helps our callers get the information they need. You can play a vital role by helping with data entry and updating. Research, verify, enter and edit data. Experience with data entry preferred, attention to detail and accuracy a must. Daytime flexible business hours in office, on a project or as needed basis. Must be High School student or older, and can earn community service hours. Click here for application.

PR Intern/Volunteer

Help plan PR campaign to make sure people in our community are aware of CONTACT as a resource in times of need. Work with senior staff, Board, designers, and printers to develop PR materials, create distribution plan, and coordinate volunteers to distribute brochures, wallet cards, and posters. Research outreach, church, and school fairs, update media lists, and develop strategies to reach hard-to-reach and at-risk groups. Marketing Outreach & Communications

  • Fundraising VolunteerResearch and support grant and funding opportunities
  • Social & Online Networking–Update & research strategies to build and grow on current status for Face Book, TWITTER, CONTACT Website, E-marketing, etc (one month minimum commitment)
  • Marketing Outreach Admin–Assist with design, copy updates, revised information. (Moderate level of knowledge with InDesign, CS4 Layout, and Adobe Design required) Click here for application.
